Margarida Campolargo has an MSc. in Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of Porto (FAUP) and completed two postgraduate studies at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and at the Superior School of Dissenny i Enginyeria in Barcelona (ELISAVA).
She has done her Master’s thesis and research work on Social and Urban Sustainability with several publications in the field. She has worked in several non-profit organizations and has been a member of the board of youth associations, namely in activities for the definition of public policies for youth.
Since 2011 she has been working in urban planning and project management with several projects in Smart Cities, such as Campus del Diagonal-Besòs, Project MyNeighbourhood and the Network of Smart and Human Cities. She was a consultant for Porto City Hall in international projects and Head of the Smart Cities Unit at Porto Digital, Porto City Hall (between January 2016 3 June 2018), representative of Open and Agile Smart Cities (OASC) in Portugal (between 2016 and 2019), and external consultant on Innovation and Governance for World Bank projects (2018/2019), is currently Vice President of International Relations of the Brazilian Network of Smart and Human Cities, project manager at OASC, Professor at the Institute Universitário da Maia (ISMAI) and Visiting Professor at Coimbra Business School and CEO of Pointify, a company that develops work in the area of Smart Tourism and Smart Cities.
