He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Secretariat and a Degree in Teaching Portuguese / French. He held teaching positions in several schools in the Bragança district, from 1997 to 2001. This year and until 2008 he was President of the Sendas Parish Council. In 2003, he was appointed Regional Delegate of the Portuguese Youth Institute and, in 2005, he took on the role of Head of the Personal Support Office of the Mayor of Bragança, Eng. António Jorge Nunes. In 2009, he took on the role of full-time councilor with the areas of Urbanism, Equipment, Social Housing, Youth and Sports. Since 2013 he has been Mayor of Bragança and Brigantia EcoPark.
